Terms of service
These terms cover Clipper U's clipping service and this site. By saying Yes to an invite or paying for a plan you agree to them.
1. The service
We find moments in your streams, edit them into short clips and deliver them to you. Plans, prices and turnaround are shown on the site or in your offer; what is written in your offer wins if it differs. Any free work we offer is limited to one per verified channel.
2. Your content and your permission
- You keep all rights to your streams and clips. You give us a limited licence to download, store, edit and deliver your content to provide the service.
- You confirm you have the right to let us use your content. Other people, music, games and brands that appear in your streams may have their own rights; posting a clip is your decision, and you are responsible for following the rules of the platforms you post on.
- We will not post to your accounts unless your plan includes it and you give us access in writing.
- We will only show your clips in our own marketing with your written permission.
3. Plans and credits
- Each monthly plan is a pool of credits for that month. A Quick cut uses 1 credit, a Punch-up 2, a Story edit 4 and a Hero edit 8. The plan page shows which edits each plan includes. Unused credits end with the month.
- Clip credits can also be bought without a plan, at $6 each, in any number. Bought credits do not expire. Your first credit purchase of 5 or more per account comes with 1 bonus credit. Clip credits are never discounted.
- If you ask us to find the moment instead of giving a timestamp, the clip costs 0.25 credit more ($1.50).
- Your first clip is free: one per verified channel, after you sign up and verify the channel, while the daily number of free clips lasts.
- Every monthly plan includes the auto-clipper with a monthly allowance of watch-hours shown on the plan page (unlimited on Senior, subject to fair use). Past the allowance it pauses, unless you switch on "keep watching", which uses 1 credit for each further 10 hours.
- We may offer clips we already made from your streams to unlock for a one-time price (for example three clips for $5, offered once, or a new clip for $5). These are single purchases, never a subscription.
4. Prices, price lock and founding price
- Our prices rise in stages over time. When you start a monthly plan, your price is locked at the stage you joined for as long as your plan stays active. If your plan lapses or you cancel, you have 1 month to restart at the same price; after that, the price at that time applies.
- Founding price: if you start a monthly plan while founding prices are open, you get 25% off for your first 3 monthly payments, then your locked price.
- We will never raise the price of an active plan without telling you at least 30 days before, and you can cancel before it applies.
5. Automatic renewal and cancelling
- Monthly plans renew automatically every month, on the day you first paid, at the price shown when you signed up (after any founding months, your locked price), until you cancel. We send a confirmation email with these terms and how to cancel when you subscribe.
- You can cancel at any time, online from your dashboard or by emailing [email protected]. Cancelling stops the next charge; your plan runs to the end of the month you paid for, and you keep everything already delivered.
6. Refunds
- Clip credits: a full refund for credits you have not used. One-time unlocks: a full refund if we do not deliver what you paid for.
- Monthly plans: we do not refund part of a month, but you are never charged again after you cancel.
- If a clip has a mistake that is ours (a wrong name, a typo, a missed cut), we fix it free.
- Nothing here limits refund rights you have by law.
7. Referral program
- Clients and creators can get a referral link. When someone signs up through it and their first payment clears, the person who shared the link gets Clipper U credits (the amount is shown when you get your link). Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred.
- If you share your link, you must say that you earn credits from it (for example: "I get Clipper U credits if you sign up"), as US advertising rules require. Referring yourself, or misleading people, ends the reward.
8. Emails
We send emails about your request, your clips and your account. We may also send a few offers; every offer email has a link to stop them.
9. Acceptable use
We do not edit content that is illegal, sexual content involving anyone under 18, or content made to harass a real person. We may decline or stop work that breaks these rules.
10. Disclosures
If a clip is part of a paid promotion, the platform's and the law's disclosure rules apply, and we can add a label on request.
11. Liability
We work carefully, but the service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the three months before it. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be waived. [OPEN: legal review]
